The chic coastal town of Campomarino with its yacht harbour and loungy beach bars is 10 km away. The authentic fishing village of Torre Colimena has many fish restaurants and fish shops and borders the dune beaches of Palo del Conte, a nature reserve that extends to the famous beaches of Punta Prosciutto. Maruggio, a pleasant small town with year-round residents, plenty of shops and good restaurants, is just 6 kilometres away. And if you are looking for a larger town, Manduria, 10 km away and famous for its Primitivo wine, has everything you would expect from a modern yet historic town.
BATHING The Ionian Sea, with its mostly white, fine sand and crystal-clear, turquoise water, offers great bathing opportunities everywhere. Temperatures reach up to 25 degrees in summer! The coast near the villa consists mainly of unspoilt dune beaches, where you will find peace and quiet even in the height of summer and can easily take your dog with you. Sun loungers and parasols are available for hire on the beach in the many small bathing villages.
EATING The Salento landscape is characterised by vines, olive trees and cacti and the unique trulli, round stone houses with pointed caps. Here you will find many wineries, olive oil producers and small markets where you can buy directly from the producer. In the many masserias and rural restaurants you can enjoy the excellent Apulian cuisine, which is based primarily on fresh and sun-ripened, natural products, as well as the warm hospitality of the south, delicious wines and favourable prices - eating out here is a real pleasure!
